In order to strengthen the leading position of the industry and maintain the hard-to-reach advanced technological achievements, the Company protects its technological R&D achievements and strengthens its competitiveness through incentive mechanisms such as encouraging R&D innovation and patent application layout combined with the Company's operational objectives to form a positive cycle of R&D innovation and corporate culture, laying a solid foundation for sustainable business operation.

The Company actively promotes the management plan related to intellectual property rights, and has established rules for the application, maintenance, and management of intellectual property rights related to patents or trade secrets, and avoids the leakage of R&D results or key technologies through a strict confidential information protection system in order to fully protect the Company's intellectual property.

The Company has been granted more than 500 patents in the United States, Taiwan, China, Japan and other countries around the world, and the number of patents granted has been increasing. At the end of each year, the management team will focus on the R&D status of each organization's R&D department, consider the future operation plan, and set the appropriate intellectual property key performance indicators (KPI) for the following year to motivate the Company's R&D efforts, and the performance achievement rate has exceeded 100% in recent years. The head of R&D also reports on the status of R&D and future plans at least once a year at the Board of Directors' meeting, so that the Directors can appropriately understand the layout of the Company's intellectual property rights.
