VisEra and NTHU Advance Phase II of the “Literary walking in Hsinchu "

The “Literary walking in Hsinchu " initiative, a collaborative effort between VisEra, National Tsing Hua University, and local community organizations in the greater Hsinchu, Taiwan, has successfully completed Phase I, which included the planning and field assessment of five routes. The project now enters Phase II, introducing five new routes. In this next phase, VisEra will play a key role in supporting the development of the newly established “Streamside Walk” along the lower Touqian River, Hsinchu, Taiwan. The public is invited to embark on a light and leisurely journey through the urban and rural areas of Hsinchu, accompanied by literature and surrounded by natural beauty.

The launch of Phase II welcomes the participation of four additional companies—Nuvoton Technology Corporation, LOTES Co. Ltd., Zyxel Group, and SYNTEC Group—who join forces with VisEra, Bureau of Environmental Protection Hsin-Chu, and Culture Affairs Bureau, Hsinchu City in driving the project forward. TSMC Charity Foundation has also been invited to assist in the promotion of the initiative.

VisEra Chairman Mr. Robert Kuan expressed his appreciation for the growing support from the business community, noting that VisEra’s initial involvement has inspired broader participation in this meaningful endeavor. The initiative seeks to help both long-time residents and newcomers to Hsinchu reconnect with the cultural and environmental value of the land. “The goal is to cultivate cultural confidence in the region, while encouraging its preservation and transmission for future generations.” He further expressed hope that this cross-sector collaboration will stimulate local tourism and promote sustainable travel, drawing visitors to return and experience the area time and again.

TSMC Charity Foundation CEO Mr. Brad Peng highlighted that TSMC Volunteer Association has more than 23,000 volunteers. In addition to encouraging TSMC employees and their families to engage with the “Literary walking in Hsinchu " and deepen their connection with the city in which they live and work, the volunteers will design appropriate walking routes and lead children from rural areas in participating—broadening engagement and fostering connections to the region’s cultural and historical heritage.
